What Counts as a Sanction
This question covers a range of outcomes, from a formal dismissal to a warning that may feel minor in hindsight. If a college, university, or professional school issued any of these as a result of an academic or conduct matter, it needs to be disclosed here, regardless of how the situation was ultimately resolved or how long ago it occurred. It will show on your CAS report.
Documentation You’ll Need
If you’re disclosing a sanction, gather any official correspondence from the institution describing the matter and its outcome. Registrar records, disciplinary hearing decisions, and any documentation showing resolution or reinstatement are all relevant. Request these from the institution as early as possible, since some schools take time to process records requests, especially for former students.
